Technical information

Oy Western Shipyard Ltd is located in Teijo, 20 km from the center of Salo. The ship lane from the Baltic Sea leading to WSY starts from Hanko and leads through Strömma channel. The depth of the ship lane is 5.1 meters.

The main shipyard area consists of dry docks 1 and 2, a outfitting dock, and a workshop hall. The upper dry dock is approx. 0.5 meter above the sea level and the height of the dock gates can be increased allowing 4.5 meters of water to be pumped over the upper level. This makes it possible to do dockings in and out from the dry dock 1 without causing interruptions to work at upper level. Longer repairs can take place on the dry dock 2.

The shipyard area is throughout fenced, guarded and monitored 24 hours/day.
